THE BRIEF
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Braxted Park, Essex, I worked with E&J to bring their stunning, elegant vision to life. Being an Essex wedding florist I was familiar with the venue.
As a summer wedding, there was an abundance of blooms to choose from including gorgeous scented garden roses which became the star of the show. The couple wanted subtle simplicity with their blooms, and chose a classic colour combination of white and green, with plenty of silvery texture provided by a variety of foliage including eucalyptus.

PERSONAL FLOWERS
Simple yet elegant was the name of the game for E & J. With a traditional style at the heart of the wedding, the personal flowers needed to reflect this.
E’s dress was simple and classic, therefore her bouquet needed to compliment this. Plenty of sage green foliage created movement and texture, whilst statement roses provided a focal point. The bridesmaids bouquets were smaller versions of E’s bouquet, and they looked stunning set against the sage green of the dresses. The bouquets were completed with a sage green bamboo silk ribbon – a special keepsake which features in all my wedding bouquets.
For the gents, the buttonholes followed a similar theme to the bouquets – simple, classic and elegant. The boys word traditional tails which made everything look even more special.
THE CEREMONY
Braxted Park is a stunning, historic country house set within beautiful grounds and gardens.
Having the ceremony outside within the walled gardens of this venue meant that the couple wanted the flowers to enhance the backdrop whilst looking completely natural – almost like they’d always been there!
E & J wanted to make a statement for their guests as they arrived, and the aisle leading to the pergola provided the perfect opportunity to frame the ceremony.
We created a broken arch for the entrance of the aisle whilst an asymmetrical arrangement on the pergola created a focal point whilst the couple were taking their vows.
THE WEDDING BREAKFAST
The wedding breakfast was to be held in the grand marquee – a large, open space which is full of natural light. With a huge blank canvas such as this, its important that the floral décor doesn’t get lost or disappears into a sea of white. Therefore we chose to use tall centrepieces to draw the eye upwards and provide an effective floating effect across all the tables. For the top table we repurposed the ceremony table flowers and elongated the arrangement the full length of the table using a foliage garland.
Finishing touches were added through the use of two statement urns which blended in with the style of the venue and foliage / florals to frame the seating plan sign. Finally, fresh flowers adorned the stunning cake.
